Egyptian folklore - Anpu/Anubis
The ancient god of the dead, mummification, afterlife, and underworld. He is represented by a jackal or the figure of the canine head.
I here I portray him as a dead body reanimated by the death himself. He is wearing head coverings which made out of African Pharaoh dog. The Pharaoh dog head features fits the silhouette from the traditional Anubis paintings.
His clothes in here are quite minimal. I tried to avoid overused of cloth design or jewelry and more into traditional kilt and armlets. In my opinion, this would fit the character better.
For the pose. I choose to use side-view based on the paintings. Besides, I'm not a big fan of dynamic poses either. Mundane pose like this shows the design better and creates more broad imaginations of the characters.
Anubis here is holding Ankh (key of life) and Was scepter (symbol of power) which is common for Egyptian deities.
